First Project of the PRTR – Ministry of Agriculture Cuevas de Almanzora
At the beginning of 2024, EMICA SOLAR completed the first project of Phase I of the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan (PRTR), which is part of the “Plan for the Improvement and Efficiency of Sustainability in Irrigation” by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, funded by NextGeneration funds. Tendered through the State Agricultural Infrastructure Company (SEIASA), the project was completed in January 2024.
With an installed capacity of 436kW, the floating plant on the Abellán reservoir in the municipality of Cuevas del Almanzora powers the pumping station towards the Ballabona reservoir. This results in energy and cost savings for 150 farmers who cultivate an area of 800 hectares.
The plant features a total of 800 bifacial panels of 545Wp tilted 25º and divided into 50 trimarans. Additionally, the floating structure includes 2 walkways or “Front Decks” located to the north and south of the plant. The South Front Deck is also connected with an access walkway.
